During my internship, I was primarily assigned research tasks on cases pending before various legal bodies such as:

  • State Consumer Dispute Redressal Commission
  • District Consumer Dispute Redressal Commission
  • Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA)
  • District Court, Bhopal

The areas of law I primarily worked on included consumer law, real estate regulation, and general civil law. My role involved conducting in-depth legal research and analysis to assist in ongoing matters. This internship enhanced my understanding of procedural and substantive aspects of these fields.

What were the most valuable legal skills you developed during the internship?

During the internship, I developed valuable legal research skills by working on cases pending before various forums like the Consumer Dispute Redressal Commissions and the Real Estate Regulatory Authority. The internship also enhanced my ability to comprehend case laws and statutory provisions, along with improving my analytical thinking and written communication skills. My mentor appreciated my perseverance and enthusiasm to learn, which reflects the professional growth I achieved during this period.

Mention any new software/tools or legal databases you learned to use (e.g., Manupatra, SCC Online, etc.)

During the course of my internship, I learned to effectively use legal research databases such as Manupatra and HeinOnline. These tools helped me access relevant case laws, statutes, and legal commentaries, thereby enhancing the quality and depth of my research on matters related to consumer law and real estate regulation.

Describe a challenging task or assignment and how you approached it.

The research on cases pending before multiple legal forums, which suggests a complex and varied legal research workload. I approached this by maintaining consistency, showing perseverance, and remaining enthusiastic to learn—qualities noted and appreciated by my mentor. This suggests I successfully navigated these challenges through diligence and a proactive attitude.

What did you enjoy the most during your internship?

I enjoyed the most during my internship was the opportunity to engage in legal research on real and pending cases before important forums like the State Consumer Dispute Redressal Commission, District Consumer Forum, Real Estate Regulatory Authority, and District Court at Bhopal. The intellectually stimulating environment, along with the freedom to explore legal provisions and case laws, made the experience both enriching and enjoyable. Receiving appreciation from my mentor further boosted my confidence and motivation.

What improvements would you suggest for the internship program at the firm?

The internship was well-structured and informative. However, one suggestion for improvement could be the inclusion of discussions on legal drafting and client counseling.
